Volvo Repair: 1999 s 70 non turbo a/c, s 70, freon

Question
I have the same problem of my ac blowing hot air after a while.  shut it off, wait 10 minutes it works again for 10 minutes.  I dont see any plugs or sensors on the back of my compressor, just the 2 freon lines and one wire that leads to the front which looks like a ground.  my s 70 is a 99 is it different?  thanks    Dan

Answer
Dan, Yours must be different.  Now we are on to a different problem.  When the car blows hot, stop the car and look and see if the clutch on the compressor is engaged or not.  If it is not then with a long pry bar, tap on the clutch and see if it engages.  If it does, then your clutch is the problem.  It would be better. to replace the whole compressor versus just the clutch.  Clutch is around 300 and the compressor is about 400.  Let me know.  Roger
