Volvo Repair: 2002 volvo S40, volvo s40, code numbers

Mechanic background, 55,000 miles.

Parked car with instrument gages working.

Started car no fuel gage, no odometer, no tach and no temp gage. Below odometer a message read:
(code number).

I changed the fuse for the gages.

Any idea?

    The code number is the answer to your problem...many smaller shops can read the code numbers..
      Sounds like it might ba a failed relay...failed ground wire..
         Try this...remove the neg.cable from batt....wait for 60sec...then connect battery ...Yes?
     I've seen this work.
