Volvo Repair: idle vibration, engine vibration, volvo s40

I am considering buying immediately a 2000 volvo S40 turbo with 67,000 miles and it runs perfect except for a very loud engine vibration at idle which goes away at higher speeds, is it a top engine mount or something else.  thank you

Well, it is probably one of the engine mounts.  On that car, it is usually one of the upper ones (in front of the timing cover, and on top of the transmission).  The bottom ones may still be bad but the top ones fail more often.  You'd be  better off buying a 2001 or newer however.  They made alot of revisions that year and 2000 (being the introduction year in the US) had more problems than the rest.
