Volvo Repair: S70 idle stall, vacuum hose, cam sensor

Question
S70 1998

My car stalled at red light several times recently. Engine light was on for a while but went off a few days later. Took to the dealer, I was told the vacume hose was cracked and something was dirty. Got it cleaned but the problem persists. Computer diagnosttic didn't tell a thing.

I suspected spark plug problem. But was told the code did not indicate that. The dealer could not find anything else wrong.

I vaguely remember that there is somthing you can adjust to set the level of idle throttle power. May be that needs to be re-adjusted(?) The car drives perfect on the road, it just tends to stall at red light once in a while.

Thanks.

Answer
Z, it sounds like the air mass meter having an intermittent issue.  You should take it back to the dealer since you had them work on it before and tell them problem persists.   That vacuum hose would not cause that stall.  You may also be having a intermittent cam sensor issue.  Roger
