Volvo Repair: 850 Wagon Tailgate, older models, tailgate

Tailgate keeps falling down and clouting me! Can you tell me what I need to fix it and how to do it?

Normally I don't answer questions regarding older models but yours is a simply problem.  The support struts for the tailgate have failed.  Just go down to the dealer and purchase 2 new struts and install them.  They just clip in.  When you look at them you should be able to see how they go on.  If not, someone at the dealer there should be able to give some more hands on instruction.  Its hard to describe  in text how they clip on.  They usually have that part in stock.
