Volvo Repair: 2002 Volvo S60 (Non-Turbo) O2 Sensor location, volvo s60, 2002 volvo s60

Question
Hi James I have a question about my '02 Volvo S60's Front O2 Sensor. I recently took the car in for it's 45000 mi. service (it also had it's check engine light on)and they said the front o2 sensor signal was too high (EMC 2110) and that it should be replaced for around $350 as well as the throttle cleaning for $125. I declined and wanted to look into it myself. I got it home and found what I believe to be the front O2 sensor right between the engine and the firewall on the back of the engine where it goes into the manifold. I can see 4-wires coming out 2-black 1-blue and 1-white going to a molded plug above the drivers side front tire area. It is sitting all by itself on the back of the engine, is there a way for me to be sure this is the correct sensor before I start pulling it apart? or does this sound right to you?..Thanks for you help!! Answer
Call the dealer first and get your in service date.  If it was after todays date 2002 then it will be under warranty.  If it is not, you are correct.  That was the front O2 sensor.  The wires will trace over to the drivers side and there will be a connector ontop of the transmission area.  It should be the right connector.  Theres only 2 connectors there.  If its not one then its the other.  It should only take a few minutes to pull it all apart.  It should be easy for anyone as long as you have the right tools for the job.
