Volvo Repair: 1997 Volvo 850 Dash Removal, torx screws, torx screw

Trying to remove dash to access/remove plastic pane covering odometer, etc. How do I remove without completely messing up ? Thanks !!

Ron, this is fairly easy.  you dont need to take it all off.  Remove vents, they just pry out.  There are 25 torx screws to come out.  Do this on the 2 center vents and one driver vent.  remove 2 25 torx on the front lip by instrument cluster.  There may be 2 little covers covering the screws.  Remove the top speaker cover. pop in the little clips and the speaker will come out.   Now the tricky part.  the side vent when you open the door needs to come out.  There will be a little grommet covering the screw.  Remove that screw and then slide the piece out.  There will be another torx screw to come out.  Now you can pull the dashcap towards you and get the cluster out.  Becareful.  I will not take responsiblity if you break something.  Roger
