Volvo Repair: shifter wont go into park, car james, microswitches

97 S90 62k auto gear shifter won't go into park. everything else works with the shifter. depress brake but won't go. Help!

There is a bulletin for malfunctioning microswitches underneath the shifter.  I'm not sure if that would apply to this problem.  If that isn't your problem then you have an internal transmission problem. I recommend letting someone look at your car because it could be way too many things for me to diagnose without seeing the car.
