Volvo Repair: 94---940 relay switch, relay switch, mechanical skills

I have no mechanical skills and the car has 105,000 miles on it....the car won't shift into 4th gear...it's much worse now that it's getting warm outside...this has been happening since last year, but was not an issue while it was cold outside

Hi Sherrie,
         I'd condider replacing the overdrive relay...or try to drive car and have a friend firmly tap on the relay...to see if it will work or blink....if yes it's the relay.
         Relays do fail...often.
          Make sure that your trans.fluid is clean and full with the proper type...4 diff.kinds are available...read owners manual.
