Volvo Repair: Hood......, volvo dealer, release lever

Question
I have a 1998 S70.  The passenger side hood release won't release and now I can't open my hood.  The release has been sticking for a few months so I lubricated it last weekend and now it won't release.   If I take the car to the Volvo dealer what will they do to open the hood?  Can I do the same thing?  Your response is appreciated.  Sincerely, The Bells

Mike and Donna, this is a common problem on the S70's  With one person pulling the hood release lever and the other one by the hood, lift up on the hood and it should release.  If not tap on the corner of the hood with the bottom of your fist and then it will release.  The release will have to be adjusted so it wont happen again.  hope this helped.   Roger
