Volvo Repair: EGR codes, vacuum diagram, vacuum lines

Question
I have had problems with the check engine light coming up. My after market OBD software says I have a gross EGR leak. My Chiltons does not have a very good vacuum diagram. I replaced the rubber elbo and inspected the purple line but the code still came back. The vehicle is a 96, 2.4 VJ series, non turbo. Any trouble shooting tips?
I recently replaced the oil pan, engine in, thanks to you guys.

John, check the elbow at the intake manifold.  Also check all the lines under the shroud at the throtle.  Run the car and see if you can here anything.  While you are at it, check to see if the gas cap is on properly.    There are so many vacuum lines on this car that I would put the car on the lift and check all of them.  Roger
