Volvo Repair: Valve Job, 1998 volvo v70, gasket applications

Question
I have a 1998 Volvo V70.  How hard would it be to do a valve job?  I have a machine shop I can take the valves to, but due to limited funds, I cant afford to pay someone to get the valves out.  Is it better to just pull the head and take the Head to the shop?  What will indicate that valves are bent?

Answer
Willie, if the timing belt broke, then all the valves are probably bent.  This job is not for just anybody to do.  Taking the head off and sending it out is the best way but I would have a Volvo shop reinstall because of the special tools and chemical gasket applications.    If the valve are bent, then new ones would need to be installed.  It may be cheaper to find a known good head at a salvage yard.  Hope this helped.  Roger
