Volvo Repair: 94 volvo 850 turbo intermittent no start, fuel pump relay, fault diagnosis

Question
I have a 1994 850 turbo that I have had for about one year. I do most of the work on the car and have good mechanical skills. The problem is that the car will sometimes not start. The car will crank but not start. This has happened four times in the past thirty days. Normally the car will start the first time I turn the key. When it does not start, I turn the key several times with no results. Each time this has happened, the car has been cold, sitting overnight. I have not had the opportunity to diagnose when the failure occurs and when I try the car the next day it starts. Using the onboard fault diagnosis, I found no stored codes for fuel and exhaut. (module A, port 2) The chassis electrical section has a code 122, temperature signal interval to short. (Module A, Port 7) The Engine electrical ignition section does not show any codes. The light comes on when the button is depressed, but does not flash. (Module A , Port 6) Are there any parts that will cause an intermittent no start condition and not leave a code in the ECU? Also is there a fix for the Port 6 not giving a code all clear or fault?

Answer
Hi Mitch,

Look for faulty wiring or corroded connections??...check fuel pump relay...fuses.
Sorry to say I'm unable to help you with codes.
          I'm less familar with 850.
                               Good luck,
