Volvo Repair: 04 Volvo 940 Wagon driver side window wont go up, volvo 940 wagon, window switches

Question
I'm not really mechnical but can follow directitons well.  Car has 143,000 miles on it.  Drivers side power window will not go up.  It's been struggling to go up and down now for a few months, stopping half way down, not going all the way.  I put it down today now it will not come up at all.  I can hear the engine trying but nothing.  Anything I can do?

        To look at the problem you must take off door panel...to see if it's stuck...or the motor is gone...You should have some min.mechanical ability.....maybe buy a test light..to test voltages to motor and from switch.
       If you could disconnect the window frame assy. and the motor you could see if things are free...sometimes windows and related hardware get "dry" and need a spray of silicon to all tracs to get things movings...and almost anything else.
        There is a great savings in doing your repairs...
     The window switches do fail...
