Volvo Repair: 98 V70 GLT with Oil Burn or Leak, flat cardboard, lead foot

Question
I just bought the vehicle and it runs great (I have no history).  Two weeks ago (and about 2K miles) I had the 100K mile service with oil change 10-30 synthetic. Today it needed three more quarts.  I see some small oil drops where I park, but not three quarts worth, nor do I see smoke when I accelerate.  Any idea?  Also, I tend to be a lead foot.
Thank you very much, Matt.

Answer
Matt,
Hmmmmm...it does sound like a leak...one way of knowing is....put piece of clean flat cardboard under the front of car...looking for leaks...if the leak was massive...it would coat the undercarriage with mucho oil.

I assume tthis car is turbo...if it's oil cooled it may be a problem.

Look at spark plugs...they can also tell if it's burning oil.

I hope the cure is simple as....the wrong oil.

         Good luck,
