I have central locking, which is OK, but i wondered if it's possible to convert it to a remote key/sender? It's pure lazyness.

Is it possible to fit remote central locking to my battered and reliable 740? Only having c/l on the drivers door - and the tailgate lock doesn't work by key - is a pain.

Hello David.
When you say "FIT" you mean to repair?
Why would you want to fit a car that already has a system?
Now that we know that we're talking about fixing..it is a easier repair to do.
The electrical units that open and close the door locks are the target replacement item....they get wet and they do fail...remove the door panel....carefully...raise the window for more acess to the door lock unit...check to see if all connections are clean ...lube linkage as needed...
Install another unit...make sure lock works easily before installing door panel.
Fixing the tailgate keyed lock is a little more complex....the problem often is a clip that disconnected from the lock.

Answer...You lazy ####...anyway..here's the way I see it...now that keyless is popular... after market manuf.have developed add on units.
I'll betcha if you look up "Keyless systems"on the internet you'll have heaps of choices.
Other types of retrofit will cost hundreds...
I don't think your Volvo dealer sells what you need.
