Volvo Repair: Gas smell after fill-up, gas tank, fuel tank

We have a 1995 850 GLT wagon Non-turbo and after we fill the car up with gas you get a strong gas smell outside the car. It can last for several days if you do not drive much. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

it could either be a leak at the fuel pump sending unit or from the gas tank.I would see if this vehicle falls under a recal #139. which is a possible leak at the fuel tank.I would contact the local dealer to see if this vehicle falls under the recall.
