Volvo Repair: A/C, 1996 volvo 960, volvo 960

Question
I replaced a A/C hose on my 1996 volvo 960 within 5 days it begain to shut off and on. Do I  need to change my Expansion  valve? If so where is it?

Hello Claudia,  Well it sounds like you are having pressure problems There may still be a leak in the system.When the compressor come on and off like that ,is becuase there is only enough freon to 'just' be able to turn on but not enogh to sustain operating. Re-check your 'o' rings for a good fit.The expansion valve is located on the pass.sd. of the engine.Follow the pipe that goes down from the accumulator 'bottle' Its inside that pipe at the frame rail its a tight fit and replace it.Thank you and good hunting!  PKD
