Volvo Repair: 99 S70 front brakes question, caliper piston, replacing brake pads

Question
Thanks in advance for your help.

I've always done my own brake work and recently bought a 99 S70 which needs new pads and rotors.  I think Superman installed the caliper bolts at the last service; any tips on braking tension on these bolts without having a lift and/or pneumatic tools?  I would be performing this work from the typical side-car front-of-wheel position.

I've read previously that I should use the parking brake but I thought this was bad news when replacing brake pads.  Does the S70's parking brake act on the front or rear or both?

Last question:  is it easier to unmount the entire caliper+rotor assembly for the replacement?  I get the feeling that it will stress the brake hose line if I jostle it.

Answer
parking brake only acts on rear wheels.I juat use an air ratchet and push it loose by hand.you may need a large wrench or large ratchet.if you have box end wrenches put the box end on the bolt then put a larger box end on the open end of the wrench that is on the bolt and this will give more leverage.I usually remove the caliper piston portion first and then the guide piece.
