Volvo Repair: 98 V70 AWD vibration growl at low speed, cv boots, cv joint

Question
My wife's V70 AWD wagon developed a low speed vibration and growl that happens at low speed until the shift takes place to third gear I think.  It is slightly worse with a little steering wheel pressure to the left and alleviated slightly with wheel pressure to the right.  The car has 70,000 miles on it.  Tire pressure is fine.

Any ideas?

My thoughts were front wheel bearing- right side or a CV joint going bad. I inspected the CV boots and did not find a damaged one.  I also rotated the front wheels by hand and did not feel any roughness or anything unusual.
She drives a rather pot holed road on the way to work, I go the same direction to work but take another route to avoid the bad road.

Answer
it is possible it is a wheel bearing.drive the car and swerve left to right  on a straight road if you swerve in one direction and the noise seems to get louder then the bearing could be the cause.if you swerve to the left and it gets louder then it would be the right and visa versa.I have also seen the front part of the drive shaft for the rear wheels go bad.
