Volvo Repair: new volvo owner - changing oil, volvo owner, cabin filter

Question
I consider myself an educated novice (have maintained my own cars Chevy Citation for 224K miles, Honda Civic for 159K) I'm also a new volvo owner.  I always change my own oil and do basic maintenance myself.  Someone advised me not to change my own oil on my newly-purchased used 1994 850 wagon.  Is there anything special about an oil change in a volvo?  Also, can I replace my own cabin filter?

Thanks!

Answer
nothing special on the oil change other than being able to reset the service light that will come on every 5k miles. below is how to reset it.if it has a cabin filter it is under the passenger side of the wiper cowl.remove the 2 torx 25 screwson this side and lift it up this will give access to it if it is there.

o reset the light turn the key on to position 2 but not started, then under the hood behind the passengers headlight there are 2 small boxes remove the cover for the box with the small wire attached to it ,this bax will be marked A.insert the wire into the hole marked 7 then press the button 4 times for one second each time.the light will light up then press the button 1 time for one second, the light will go out then come on again then press the button 5 times for one second each time, the light will go out then come on againe then press the button 1 time for one second, the light will go out hen it will flash rapidly and go out again, this should have reset the light if not try doing it again sometimes it does not work.
