Volvo Repair: volvo alarm system, security alarm system, battery cables

I have a 96 Volvo 850...battery died and husband jumped it to get it started...after the volvo starts running again the security alarm system is acting up.  It will start to alarm while just sitting there or while I am driving down the road.  Also, the light on the dash is constantly blinking at times.  Could this have occurred as a result of jumping the battery to get it started?  What does he need to do to correct the alarm system...he mentioned that he disconnected the battery cables while the car was running...does this make a difference....Please Help.

I have not heard of this before.it could have done something to the alarm control unit.since I have not seen this happen I am not sure what can be done to correct it.sorry I could not help more.it will freally need to be looked at for a proper dignosis.
