Volvo Repair: V70 Turbo Intermitent Starts Up, faulty component, breakout box

Question
Hi James Recently i had problems with my imobolizer rgardles which Key i was using.
The computer was not registering permanent code
for identification of the faulty component regardles the dealer replaced the antena ring
By checking the old one it did read about 5 ohms
resistance .What makes the ring to go bad? And if you know the resistive value of the coil?
Thanks and wish you have a Happy New Year
Theodore

Answer
All of the specs I was able to find for the antenna ring were the type that would be measured with it in the car and was for voltage not resistance.  The only way to test it is in the car, with a breakout box attached (something you can't do in your driveway).  It has an integrated circuit built internally that controls it so there is no way to get any type of ohmic value with it out of the car.  Sorry.
