Volvo Repair: throttle cleaning, vacuum leak, hose clamp

Question
Hello,

I have a 98 volvo S70.  I was reading somewhere that the throttle should be cleaned every 20k miles.  How would I go about doing this?

Answer
Take the tubing off that is right next to the throttle body (where the cable linkage is attached).  Once thats off you should be able to see the throttle plate.  Just take a can of throttle body cleaner (not carb cleaner!) and spray liberally on the throttle plate.  Be sure to get the back side too (just pull on the linkage).  After that just put it all back together and you're good to go.  Be sure to do this with the car off and make sure that the hose clamp gets put back on tight so you don't have a vacuum leak.  Don't go crazy though, those plastic tubes can crack.  Should take 5 minutes with the proper tools.  Good luck.
