Volvo Repair: glovebox is stuck closed, volvo 850 wagon, hacksaw blade

The glovebox cannot be opened. Apparently when it was closed some paper was jammed in the latch. How do I get it open? 1995 Volvo 850 Wagon.

it is possible the handle has broken inside the door.if so you will need a new handle and latch piece that it cathces to on the dash.to open pull glovebox door open with left hand or wedge something in it and cut the latch with a hacksaw blade.using just the blade it will fit just do it carefully so the dash or glove box door do not get cut.then you will need to replace the latch and handle.
