Volvo Repair: power seats, cable sheath, hog rings

Question
1995 850 GLT.  Driver-side power seat controls work/adjust properly on seat-bottom, but not seat-back.  The seat-back is stuck in a reclined position, will not raise.  When moving the seat-back switch, I can hear the "motor", but does not physically adjust.  It seems to be turning in a range from raised to inclined, but not physically adjusting.  I can see the cables that go from under seat-bottom and enter seat-back from underneath.  Troubleshooting/repair advice?

Answer
this is a general idea to the repair.at the bottom of the seatback there are 4 silver hog rings holding the back material together.they will need to be cut.you will need new rings.then you need to lift the material upp the seat back until you can remove the screw on the left side of the seat back that holds the motor in place.then remove the cable from the motor heat the metal end with a lighter while pulling on it with pliers til it comes off.then cut the black cable sheath about1/4 inch or so then reheat the  metal end and slide it back on not so far that the black sticks out the open end.with cable out of motor run the motor as if you were tilting the seat backwards until the motor stops.then install cable in motor temporarily.then run motor so seat back would be going forward til it stops then remove the cable and run motor in forward direction til the motor stops then reinstall the cable into the motor.
