Volvo Repair: VOLVO 850 GLT CLIMATE CONTROL, volvo 850 glt, volvo dealer

1993 Volvo 850 GLT. We have had flashing the "REC" and "AC OFF" warning lights on the control panel. Driver's side will not produce heat, passenger side will only produce heat with the dial on full heat setting.  Volvo dealer just did diagnostics could not find a problem in the system anywhere...they suspect the climate control...they wanted over $1000 to install a new one.  I am not spending that much, and I can install it myself.  The only place I can find a replacement is on e-bay...where should I look and what is the part number?

I am not sure on the part number as they change often.I would not purchase a used one as it will be subject to the same problem since overtime they almost all seem to go bad.I believe that you will need one from a 93 if you get used as other years are different.

there is a bulletin to also add an additional piece of harness when replacing the control panel with the latest one from volvo.
