Volvo Repair: rear door, volvo 740, right angle

I hope you are as good as i need you to be. My rear passenger door won't open. the child lock is on and the outside handle doesn't work. How do i open it so i can fix the problems. the car is a 89 volvo 740. thank you

if there is no door edge guard on the edge of the door sometimes with a flashlight and a coat hanger bent with a hook on the end you can get to the child lock and move it over so it can be opened from inside.this is the easiest and less damaging way.it will not be easy to see but you should be able to see it with your head at the right angle use the other rear door as a reference.
