QuestionI have a leaking water pump on a 1987 240dl, and was just wondering if it was run by the timing belt. And also the degree of diffuculty to get thie task done, say 1 to 10. Thank you!
AnswerEasy to do. Level of difficulty, a 5 ,10 being the hardest. Remove top timing cover to access pump. Pump independent of timing belt. Best to go with OEM pump, last the longest. Only thing to watch for is that pump needs to be tensioned up against top seal, otherwise it will leak.
