Volvo Repair: Cam intercange, rust bucket, hot rodding

Question
Hi.

I own a 1992 244 GL. Past cars were a 1980 242 dl, a 1990 244 DL and a 1982 242 GLT.

The 1982 GLT was canadian spec with the K cam that provided higher lift thus more power. I kept the cam before junking the rust bucket.

Question is, would I see significant power increase by istalling that cam in my current 1992 and is anything special involved with such a switch?

Thanks, Yves

Answer
Haven't done this modification, but if the lift and duration are much different from yours, you should see some kind of performance improvement. Basic hot-rodding, try it and see what happens. May or may not need to replace sprocket also. Just match up all the parts.
