Volvo Repair: Kickdown Cable, wd 40, automatic transmission

I owned a 240 SE Year 1994. Pls advise when automatic transmission kickdown cable need to be replace and its symptons. Thank you.

Make sure it moves smooth through entire range. If not some wd-40 can help. With cable in place, put it out slightly and see if it snaps back into place with an audible click in transmission. If you don't hear it try loosening cable and try again. If it has a metal clip on cable, cut that off first, but be careful not to cut cable.
