Volvo Repair: 240 OIL LIGHT, carbeurator, hurricane charley

Question
The oil light on my '84 240 sedan comes on intermittently when I drive the car.  It seems to be affected by the rpm's of the car, but does not stay on at any time consistently. The car has plenty of oil, so would I be right to assume it is the oil pump?

Also, I purchased an '85 240GL that is in perfect condition with 78,000 miles on it. My question is about the carbeurator.  I have never seen or heard of a carbeurated 240 made in the 80's.  The original owners of the car said that they had purchased it from a dealer in Belgium.  Do you have any info about this car?

Answer
First, sorry for late response.I am in SW Florida and if you do not know we were just hit by  Hurricane Charley Friday and I just got power 30 minutes ago.

It may be a bad oil pump pickup Oring.you will need to remove the oil pane and inspect the Oring.

as for the old carbuerated car you could try looking for a manual from volvo at www.volvotechinfo.com
