Volvo Repair: 1989 240dl wagon; glass replacement, gasket seal, haynes manual

Question
Hello, I am replacing the right rear passenger window, have the new glass, have cleaned out all the old glass, have the Haynes manual, but cannot figure out how to insert the new glass into the door. It is a hand crank. Any tips? I've tried every angle but the one that works I guess.
I'm also replacing the right rear wagon panel, have the glass and the rubber gasket/seal, and have been told to use clothesline and WD40 to pull the panel into place from the inside. Any tips? Once this is accomplished is there any need for additional sealer?
Right now the car won't start, but it's been sitting for 2 years. Before that it ran very well, so I've been told to spray starter fluid into the air intake, but where is that on a fuel injected engine? I've found the air filter compartment, and the hose leading to  something? Shall I remove the hose clamp and spray the fluid into there? I have plenty of electric with the help of jumpers.
thanks for your help,

Answer
I WOULD HAVE TO SEE THE WINDOW I HAVE NOT DONE MANY AND CAN NOT REMEMBER THE LAST TIME I DID.I HAVE NEVER DONE A SIDE WINDOW BUT THAT IS HOW IT SHOULD BE DONE.THE ONLY GLASS WE WOULD DO AR THE DOOR WINDOWS ALL OTHERS GET DONE BY A GLASS COMPANY.NO SEALER SHOULD BE NEEDED THE RUBBER SEAL SHOULD SEAL THE WINDOW.
I WOULD JUST SPRAY THE FLUID INTO A VACUUM PORT ON THE INTAKE MANIFOLD.USUALLY i WOULD USE THE ONE THE PRESSURE REGULATOR HOSE ATTACHES TO.

BEST FOR THIS CAR WOULD BE TO DRAIN FUEL TANK,BLOW OUT ALL FUEL LINES INCLUDING INJECTOR RAIL AND THEN USE NEW GAS.THESE INJECTORS STILL MAY NOT SURVIVE 2 YEARS OF SITTING.
