Volvo Repair: fuel consuming and viprating idle speed, fuel pressure regulator, obd system

thanks for this usefull information , but does a bad spark plugs cause this ? and can you send a PDF file or text file to explain the test procedure to check only the Air Mass Meter and the Coolant Tempreture Sensor ? please , cause there is no good technician can do this in my region so I have to do it in myself

hi , thanks for keeping helping me , I thanks you for anyhelp you will offer me , my car is volvo 940GLT model 1992" with B234F 16-valve DOHC engine , but its a middle east edition comes without O2 sensor and catalitic converter  , its consumes too much fuel ( about 100km/20litre intown driving ) , and the idle speed is not stable , its keep varying between 650-850 rpm with a rapid changing ( not frequent changing ) , I know all the electronic component of the injection/ignetion system in my car and I know all the OBD diagonistic codes and the obd system doesn't give any code for any fault just 1-1-1 code , its cold start is well and fast and the power of engine is about 75% of its origional and the CO comes out from axhaust is 5,5% , please tell me what I have to check and do ? and if the spark plugs is bad do they cause all of that ? thanks again for your care and help .

there are many items in the fuel system that can cause this type condition.I am surprised there is no check engine light on.I would check the fuel pressure regulator vacuum side to be sure it is not leaking fuel there with the car running.if this is ok then each component of the fuel system will need to be checked with a volt meter to check each components signal.I would not be able to tell you how to do this on this car we do not have manuals for this type fuel syatem.you can order repair manuals from volvo at www.volvotechinfo.com

I doubt that this is from bad plugs.this would take alot of explaining.the best thing to do would be to purcahse a repair manual from volvo this will have all the diagnostic procedures you will need to do.you would need a LH 2.4 fuel injection manual for a 92 940.
