hello. Recently bought 940 GL (1992).  Wanted to replace radio, but I have no idea where to start taking out factory radio.  Please Help!

on each end of the front face plate is a small square hole.you will need a small screwdriver to fit into this hole to pull a tab in there.while pulling the radio with one hand you will need to put the screwdriver into one of the holes and pry the screwdriver towards the side of the radio so the tab would be pulled in towards the side of the radio.do this on both holes and it should come out.
