Volvo Repair: Air Conditioning, 1996 volvo 960, volvo 960

Question
I have 1996 Volvo 960. When you first start the car up and turn the A/C on it cools great. I checked it with a thermometer and it gets down to about 40 deg.+/- After the car runs for about 15 min the air goes warm. With the hood up you can hear the compressor clicking on and off while its cooling, what I think is pretty loud clicking, however I have never owned a Volvo before so I don't know if its actually loud, I have had this car for about a week. I checked the freon level at the accumulator and its reads good. Also, if you turn it off for about 10-15 min. it will cool again for about another 10-15min. Any ideas? Thanks, Chris.

Answer
it could be low on freon.it could also have a bad compressor that when it gets hot shuts off.I have seen both cause this type problem.another possibility is the system is freezing up this would show up by the accumulator (large silver filter near firewall freezing on the outside.
