Volvo Repair: Help!!, coolant temperature sensor, fuel pressure regulator

Question
When my husband said plenty of fire, he meant plenty of spark. Fuel is fine, battery is fine, spark is there, fuses are good. Any other ideas? Could the fuel be bad?

Question -
I have a 1987 Volvo 740GLE wagon with a 2.3 four cyl. engine. It just won't start! I disconected the fuel line and it's pumping fuel like a fire truck, it's also getting plenty of fire too. Battery is still good with plenty of juice. I checked the timing belt and it's not broken. The car was running just fine and then it quit at a snap of a finger. It has two hundred and thirty thousand miles on it. I've gone to several friends who have made suggestions on what to check, however, nothing has come up so far. My last suggestion was that it may be the timing belt, so I checked that and it has very little play in it. Could it have jumped timing? Any other suggestions on what I could possibly check next would be greatly appreciated.
Answer -
it say it has fuel but is there any spark at the plugs.check for spark.if no spark could be a bad ignition power stage or bad distributor. It could jump timing.most coomon would be the power stage.sorry for late answer was unable to access the site.

Answer
if it has fuel and spark then I WOUULD CHECK THE TIMING BELT AND BE SURE ALL THE PROPER MARKS LINE UP,AND IF THAT IS OK IT MAY BE A PROBLEM WITH THE INJECTOR SIGNAL FROM THE CONTROL UNIT POSSIBLY THE ENGINE IS FLOODING DUE TO A BAD ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR,OR BAD FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR.CHECK THAT NO FUEL LEAKS OUT THE REGULATOR VACUUM HOSE.
