Volvo Repair: 1996 Volvo 960 wagon/engine, coolant temperature sensor, engine coolant temperature sensor
QuestionHi Regis,
Just purchased this 102,000 mile '96 Volvo 960 and love it! Question: Engine runs very rough for first 15 seconds when starting in this cold PA weather. Fuel problem - automatic choke problem? Is this normal?
Also, found part #3547383 (looks like a black scoop) laying (not connected) inside air filter box. Does this part belong there - doesn't look like it fits.
One last question - a guy would never ask this but I am curious - accidentally had the sunroof partially open when I first got the car driving home during a driving rain storm for over two hours - without realizing it of course - where did all this rain go once inside the roof? Did not notice any interior damage.
Am planning to get a repair manual soon for this car but for the time being - really appreciate the convenience of your site. Thanks for your time. Irena
AnswerI am from PA now I am in FL.It could be a dirty throttle body carbon in the intake or may be a problem with the engine coolant temperature sensor.
not sure what part this may be in the aircleaner housing I would have to check that number.
there are 4 drains on the sunroof tray in the roof area one at each corner.they drain out the bottom of the car.
