Volvo Repair: volvo fuel related problem, fuel pump relay, fuel computer

Question
I have a 88 240 DL wagon. Starts sometimes. Sometimes it doesn't. I
replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter as well. I went to a dealer and asked
for the fuel pump relay. He gave me this white box relay, told me it
was located under the passenger glove compartment box. I replaced it,
still have problems. Could it be a FUEL SYSTEM RELAY? And where is that
located in a 88 240 DL wagon?

Answer
there is no fuel system relay just the fuel computer is next. the thing to do, is check when the car does not run, if you have voltage to the fuel pump. and a ground. if you have both, then you have a problem with the pump. if you do not have voltage. based upon what you said, verify that you have spark, if you do, then you very well could be looking at a new fuel computer
