Volvo Repair: volvo acceleration, used volvo xc70, volvo xc70

Question
I bought a used volvo xc70 awd 2001 last November with 66000km on it. I think I have a problem with accelaration. When I am - let's say - going 100 km/h on the highway and I need to increase my speed, i press the gaz pedal, the car respond to me quickly but it just stops after 1 second or so.It is like the engine speed goes up and suddenly stops and comes back to what it was before. I expect the car to gain speed as long as I am accelarating. it is like the engien is not responding. Does this have something to do with calibration or something .... ?

Thank you ,
Cyril.

Answer
there are many  things that can cause this.these cars have many sensors for the fuel system and they are a networked system.it will needto be check for any diagnostic trouble codes to help narrow the possibilities.then it will need to be fault traced from there.
