Car cranks cold and runs fine but after it warms up it will not re-crank again until it sets 15 to 30 minutes. Tempature is not a factor. Check engine light is on and has been since recent purchase. Next problem. I drove it for 30 miles everything lovely then it just shut down completely. Tried to crank but no dash lights or anything. Cooled completely tried jumping and nothing. Went the next day and it cranked right up ran for a while and died again. Has been suggested there may be an alternator problem.

No I do not agree with alternator decision. If alternator has problem you can not start the car after 15-30 minutes.
To find the problem, firstly you should learn the Engine Lamp cause, why it lights? You should learn the Diagnostic Trouble Codes, if you do not know to read the DTCs, go to a deealer. Only if we learn the DTCs we can find the source of the problem.
