Volvo Repair: re start / stalling, voltage light, pressure situation

1989 240 190 k in good shape.new plugs, wires, rotor, cap &  02 sensor.one owner ten years
starts cold just fine i'm in california.But
has re-start problem after warm up unless i give it increased gas pedal. check engine light comes on sometimes but clears after disconnecting the battery.will start fine  if i give it more gas pedal...also low voltage light stays on until the revs go up..maybe related ?....thanks

the starting problem, might be either a dirty throttle housing, or possibly it may be a low fuel pressure situation. as for the check engine light, you will need to get the codes out, simply unplugging the battery isnt doing your car any good, and you are contributing to smog and other man-made pollutants.
