Volvo Repair: Wynns extended warranty/repair history of my car, care warranty, warranty repair

Question
My factory warranty on 2000 S70 with 35,000 miles is about to expire.  Dealer has presented me with Wynn's Extended Care warranty info for 6 years/100,000 miles costing $2074.  What is your experience?  What do you know about them?  OEM parts are not covered and that concerns me, however I know that if anything goes it could be a major cost to me.  There are a lot of exclusions which I frankly don't understand.  Can you give me information along with repair history of my car?

Thank you.

Answer
i cannot comment to your cars history, i have no idea of what its been through. That warrenty is very overpriced in my opinion. major expenses that might come up in your cars life might be a new throttle modlule (probably an exclusion) as well as potentially an evaporator. and if so, these items do not fail repeatedly.  A new throttle module installed is about $850 and a new evaporator i think is about $1200. so if both of them fail, you are at the break even point. if they are both covered, after 1998 the evaporator failures went down dramatically!  I HATE THESE WARRENTY POLICIES.  this is nothing more than another overpriced insurance policy.  mind you that the sales person selling you this policy is due a large commision for selling them.  my personal advice. i would pass. but its your car, and i am unaware of your financial situation. but by in large the consumer does not make out on these policies. its like gambling in vegas, few people win, most people lose.
