Volvo Repair: Fan motor on 2002 S60 AWD, tick tick tick, bumper to bumper warranty

My 2002 S60 AWD has a little over 24000 miles. Over the last 2 weeks the heater/AC fan began making a fairly load "tick, tick, tick" noise particulary when it is on the lower settings (when 1 or 2 indicator lights around the fan speed knob are on). Up on higher setting (3 or more indicator lights) the sound is barely evident but it is there. This happens whether the heat or AC is on.  The sound has been constant at the lower fan speeds since it started.

Any idea what's happening and shouldn't my local Volvo dealer enthusiastically :)  fix this problem under my Bumper to bumper warranty that is still in force?

I have not seen any problems with the blower motors in the S60's.it could be a piece of paper or something has been sucked into the fan or a problem in the motor.providing the problem is in the motor and not a piece of paper or other foreign material it should be a warranty.
