BMW: bmw e30 318i 1988, bmw e30, fan clutch

had an overheating problem car ran at 3rd of the way on temp gauge,changed every cooling part  down too the temp sensor unit,but it still sits about 2mm above 1/2 way mark,could it be i need to put the aux fan switch on high? please could you help!! mayjor issue for me i like things perfect!! please help me.. regards luke osborne...

You can yry a slightly colder thermostat but that might put you too far in the other direction. Make sure the fan blade is not backward and try installing a new fan clutch, it may  not be locking up. Also next time you flush the coolant drain the coolant and mix straight water and CLR together and put it in the car. Drive it for a couple hours then fluch with water then fill with the appropriate mix. This will break the calcium clots out of the radiator.
