Acura: The RDX?, acura rdx, nissan murano

Question
My wife is interested in several small SUV/crossover-type cars, including the
Acura RDX, Nissan Murano, Ford Edge, Honda CR-V and Toyota Rav4. She's
leaning towards the RDX or Murano, which are more expensive to buy than
the CR-V and Rav4 and I'm wondering if they're also a lot more expensive to
maintain. (The RDX also requires premium fuel while the Murano
recommends but doesn't actually require it--in contrast to the others which
use regular--so I'm especially concerned about higher running costs!) Also,
the RDX is a first year car and I've been told to try to steer clear of first year
models so is this also something I should worry about? Further, the RDX
doesn't have such common features as memory seats or an electric front
passenger seat--and I'm thinking next year's model may so how likely is this
(and how soon might we know more about this)? Finally, I don't know that I've
seen one RDX on the road and my understanding is they haven't been selling
very well--is this something I should be concerned about? And is there a
reason they're not selling I should know about? Or are the other cars I've
mentioned simply better buys? Thanks for whatever help you can offer!

Answer
Your wife has some good tastes in SUVs, theyre all compact small size SUVs. I like both the RDX and Murano, i test drove both vehicles and since the rdx is 2.3 4cyl vs the v6 murano, the mileage is comparable 20/24 street/highwy, prices are on the same range $33k-$37k depends on options.
Both cars have good reviews, but since the murano is on the street longer than the RDX and the engine is pretty solid, its the same engine as the 350Z, G35, FX35, so id say its pretty safe to get the Nissan Murano. On the other hand its not as sporty or aggressive as the RDX.
