Buick/Olds: 1996 Buick Park Avenue A/C Heating system, buick park avenue, buick dealer

Question
The car has dual controlls for the A/C and heating. The passenger side blows out hot air no matter how the settings are positioned. The driver side is fully adjustable, works properly, with the below exceptions.

The settings for heat has to be set at least 85% for the system to put out any heat.

Also, it takes at least 15 minutes for the ducts to open when you first start the car, you can hear the fan going but no air comming out the ducts. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks a million.

Answer
If the controls are in the AUTO mode, there will be a delay befor any air comes out.
This is a very hard system for me to give you any help with because there are so mony things that affect it. There are inside temp sensors, outside temp sensors, coolant temp, AC pressure, humidity level, as well as all of the other normal heater and ac components. Plus you have the dual zone system, the control head, and the programmer.
Without being able to see what is going on with a scan tool it is very hard for me to suggest anything. My best advice would be to take it to a Buick dealer to have it diagnosed. I wouldn't take it to any other shops because they do not have the proper tools and knoledge of this system to acuratly diagnose the problem.
