Cadillac: Suspect Cruise Control Problem, throttle plate, cruise control

Question
I recently bought a 1993 Sedan Deville (very nice, 60,000 miles) from the estate of an older couple.  Rarely driven in winter.  In the last 20 times I've driven it, it stalled pulling into my driveway 5 times, wouldn't hold the idle.  Also noticed that the CC sometimes does not hold a speed or gently jerks while on cruise.  Also noticed that none of these symptoms appear when I have the CC switch off.  There are no warning lights on at all.
Can the quirk in the CC be causing the stalling?  What should I look at?

Thanks,
Thomas

Answer
The stalling is most likely caused by a blackish residue on both side of the throttle plate and on the inside of the throttle body itself.  Use an aersol cleaner to clean these areas and see if your stalling stops.

Without driving the vehicle, There are numerous tests that would need to be made in order to fix the cruise depending upon what it is doing when I was driving it.
