Cadillac: cadillac sts 1997 a/c not working, cadillac sts, pressure guage

Question
The air is not working on my cadillac and it needs more freeon. I have looked through previous answers to this problem and managed to clear the acm codes. When I go to add the freeon the pressure guage goes up and down and it does not accept it. Any ideas what I can do next to get it working..I am melting in 100 degree heat here!!

Answer
If the compressor is NOT running, You cannot add freon thru the low side pressure port. You need to jumper the AC relay in order to get the compressor running in order to install additional freon.

You MUST have a set of AC gages so you can watch the HIGH side pressure when you have the AC compressor relay jumpered so as not to build up to much hi side pressure.  You need PICTURES of where to locate the relay and how to jumper the relay.

If the AC system is TOTALLY EMPTY of freon, You will need to replace the orifice tube and evacuate all the atmospheric air out of the system BEFORE you can install a full load of freon.

If you are only going to add a single can of freon or half a can then the jumping of the relay applies.
