Cadillac: 1998 eldorado stumble, throttle positioning sensor, accurate diagnosis

Question
QUESTION: Hello there Tom,I have a 1998 eldorado. My question is this:It idles great and runs super at pick up and when acceling but when you poke along at a steady low rpm speed it has a stumble every now and then. This occurs also when on the freeway when holding at a steady cruise speed.Give it a little more gas and its just fine.Kinda acts like its dropping a spark plug or somthing.I recently bought the car and changed plugs, wires, fuel filter, oils and gas filter. Thanks wes

ANSWER: Without personally driving the car an accurate diagnosis is most impossible. Are you sure that what you are feeling is the AC compressor engaging and disengaging. Does it still stumble with the AC OFF ?.

QUESTION: Hi,No its not the AC compressor. It does it with the Ac off.If you pull out of a street from idle just barely accelerate just off idle you can feel it do little jerks. Also when driving on the highway at 65 mph it will cut out every once and a while, like a studdard.

Answer
Could be a residue buildup within the throttle plate area that needs to be cleaned, An intermittent fault in the THROTTLE POSITIONING SENSOR or a transmission fault.

I would need to drive the vehicle and perform some test procedures to make an accurate diagnosis.
